Printable Small Group Activity

Directions:

1. Step 1: Give each student a card with a CVC word family (e.g., "-at," "-an," "-in").
   Example: One child holds a card with the "-at" family (e.g., cat, hat, bat).
2. Step 2: Students will read a list of words provided and spot the ones that match the word pattern of the card they are holding.
3. Step 3: Students will draw an "X" on the words that belong to the same word family as the card they hold.
4. Step 4: After identifying the words, students will read each word aloud and then draw a line connecting the word to the corresponding picture on a worksheet or board.
